We each have dormant, spiritual forces within – both positive and negative. These forces are awakened depending on where we focus our thoughts, words and consciousness. When we are busy focusing on and discussing the positive aspects in others, we awaken the sleeping beneficent forces within, enabling us to experience more joy and fulfillment in our lives. However, when we focus on others’ bad traits and gossip about them, we awaken the sleeping forces of negativity within, which have a very real, damaging effect on our lives.

Hail to the Chief

Hail to the Chief
When Justin is out of town he has the "You're the man of the house now" talk with Jackson. He always corrects the boys by reminding them who the "Chief" is. This weekend, Jackson reminded me that when JH was out of town, he was The Chief, and proceeded to draw out and post the schedule for the day. I was in stitches! Of course we modified it a bit with a reminder that Mommy is the "neck" Justin may be the head, but Mommy is the neck that moves the head!

The boys and I enjoyed our homemade putt putt course, we started a little behind schedule, but made good time.

Dane enjoys his first finger paints. Not quite a lesson in primary colors, why is it that no matter what the colors mixed, it always ends up black? Don't worry grandma(s) they are non-toxic paints.

Eating out with Kids

Eating out with Kids
Are we the only ones crazy enough to attempt eating a resturant with kids? Every dinner with Dane is an adventure!

Fishers of men

Jackson has turned into be quite the fisherman and LOVES it!

We enjoyed the Savannah Skyline and the Ghostly Tours in this historical town. Our hotel had an awesome rooftop pool overlooking the river and old downtown, but the best part is they gave us a $40/night Travel Agent Discount!

He has such a little personality and waves at every stranger and has quite the stubborn streak! Lately he loves immitation, he often brushes his teeth or tries to somb his curly hair like he sees us all doing. Here he is studying his vocab words with big brother, we laughed and laughed as he explored!

A Fresh Start

A Fresh Start
A rare occasion, a weekend working around the house lends itself to the comfortable and productive satisfaction you get only when you feel you've accomplished something. We cleaned out Jackson's "baby" toys and converted his room to a big boy place where he can study and enjoy his organized space.

Jackson at Golf Camp

Jackson at Golf Camp
Jackson has been enjoying golf camp and even earned his first "credit" last week for longest putt.

I all about customizing and when I found this handy Avery paper it made doing so very easy. Simply create your image and print on this paper (about $12 for 6 sheets) then iron on your fabric. Be sure to "flip" or "mirror" the image before printing. On Father's Day, and the last day of the SMA, I made these shirts for the boys reading "is your dad in the hunt?" referring to the final round of Justin's tourney.

The Tiger Family History

While we are, in fact, the Heimer's. However, our 5 year old son cleverly named us "The Tiger Family" a few years back, denoting our strength, fierceness and devotion to the pack... or family, after he learned about this interesting animal in school. (That and of course, the fact that our Justin has a "stamp" of a tiger on his chest :-) The name seemed to stick. And in December we were so elated to meet our newest Tiger cub...

Justin in GolfWeek Magazine

Justin in GolfWeek Magazine
My hubby was featured in the most recent issue of GolfWeek magazine for his ranking at the Greystone Invitational. This tournament is one of the biggest in the Nation and finishing in the top 25 really boosted his national ranking. Im proud of you honey... i'll try to complain less about practice, weekends, and the overall golf obsession our family has to live with :-)

Jackson made All-Stars!

Jackson made All-Stars!
Ok, so I am not a boy mom by choice, but by Grace. By necessity I've had to learn that in Tball your score a *run* and not a *goal*... needless to say I am very proud of our little Allstar; that in his 2nd year of the sport he has accomplished so much. However, I cannot take any of the credit, his "2" dads are all to blame! And...wow, this is quite the committment. I feel a little guilty, that I was almost looking forward to the season's end. Am I the only mom that feels this way??

A Mother's Day Tribute

Of course Jackson loves soccer VIP, David Beckham so when he saw a pic with his haircut he thought it was "rockstar hair". (dont worry, we still have a few weeks before school starts)
