Heat Wave

It is hot in Southern Maryland!  This week temps will top out at 105 degrees with the heat index and a long Memorial Day weekend screamed summer is here.  I stay keep it professional and cool with neutral colors and light weight fabrics to get me through when life turns up the heat!

Sweet City

My mom and I have enjoyed an annual shopping trip to the city for years. Now living only a few hours away from the island of Manhattan, the husband and I ventured to the big apple for a weekend of excitement and cultural research ...that's right, a good old fashioned bar crawl! Our weekend pick was hands down Joshua Tree in SoHo. All your favorite 80's hits with those great videos blasting on multiple jumbo screens! Oh what a night, followed by a little downtown shopping and brunch at the original Serendipity3. We also explored the coolest candy store to bring back a special treat for the kids. Owned by Ralph Lauren's daughter Dylan's Candy Bar was the sweet spot of our Sunday stroll.

Chanello

This look screams Chanel to me (Even though only the Chanel I am wearing is my fav fragrance Chance). Chanel reminds me of 2 of my favorite movies: The Devil Wears Prada; loved her Chanel look in her 'after' scenes, and of course, the Sex and the City Movie I; "Chanello" -Anthony.

The long pearls add a little interest to the basic B&W and I just love this ceramic flower necklace that was sweet suprise gift from my Mom that I am currently obsessed with. Gap dress, silk Inc. for Macy's button up, Jessica Simpson patent leather platforms.

Casual Day Out

Leggings are so comfy that I could wear them everyday.  On the weekends, I certainly rock them whenever I get a chance. This is a classic Saturday at the grocery store look for this mom!

Work Gloves not White Gloves

This weekend was a busy one for The Glam Mom. My husband and I organized a charity golf tournament to benefit Father Andrew White School that was a big success! Heimer Golf & Assoc (hubs) was a key to its success with over 120 golfers and a ton of work. Luckily, we had beautiful weather and fun day on the course. And, oh...did I mention I had the cutest golf outfit with matching gloves? Right... that really made my day (in addition to the money we raised :-)  On Saturday I slipped on another pair of gloves  for a little gardening.  I just love how plants and flowers dress up the deck and  outdoor living spaces. I am totally addicted to Frontgate and Ballard Designs at the moment, and have magazine clippings saved for inspiration.  That inspiration translated to an over-budget visit to Meadows Farms Sunday afternoon, but the outcome is gorgeous!

Finding Treasures

I have a confession. I secretly love yard/garage/moving sales. They are so much fun! Outdoors, chatting with neighbors, rummaging. I am all in. This weekend was the annual community wide sale in our neighborhood. I found the treasure of the century in an old box of my Mother-in-laws! While going through boxes in the garage to price our own wholesale treasures, I found this gorgeous vintage silk HERMES SCARF!

The husband likes the sales too. He just likes the idea of us purging and him re-claiming the garage and a little closet space - pretty much the exact opposite of little 'ol hoarding me!
